Faith No More was an American rock band that formed in San Francisco, California in 1982. They disbanded in 1998. Faith No More combined elements of heavy metal, funk, hardcore punk, progressive, hip hop, and jazz, among many others, and are often hailed as one of the most influential rock bands of all time.
Faith No More has been credited for influencing many of the nu metal bands such as Limp Bizkit, Korn, Linkin Park, among others. Bands at their time such as Metallica, Anthrax, and Guns 'N Roses have picked Faith No More as one of their favorite bands. They were voted #52 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock".

1982 - Group formed as "Faith No Man" with members Mike "The Man" Morris, Mark Bowen, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, and Mike Bordin.
1985 - Faith No More released debut album We Care a Lot with members Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Mike Bordin, Jim Martin and Chuck Mosely.
1987 - Released Introduce Yourself.
1988 - Chuck Mosely fired, replaced by singer Mike Patton.
1989 - Released The Real Thing.
1991 - Song "The Perfect Crime" released on soundtrack for Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, with Jim Martin also appearing for a brief cameo in the film.
1992 - Released Angel Dust.
1993 - Jim Martin leaves band, replaced by Mr. Bungle guitarist Trey Spruance.
1995 - Released King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime; Trey Spruance leaves band, replaced by Dean Menta for tour.
1996 - Dean Menta no longer involved with Faith No More.
1997 - Released Album of the Year with guitarist Jon Hudson.
1998 - Billy Gould announces Faith No More's official and mutual break up.
